Eric and the Bullfrogs

I formed this band after a chance meeting with a taxi driver, Steve Wade, in Sheffield, who picked me up coming back from a gig I’d been playing.  We talked about the blues and eventually did a few rehearsals with me on bass and Steve on guitar.  Mark Forest was added on lead guitar and John Scott on drums.  We started gigging around the area and did some memorable shows.  We did a lot of benefit gigs and my brother suggested we only played when some crisis was going on in the world!  Mark left and after a variety of lead guitarists, Andy Watson took on the chief axe man role.  I played bass, slide guitar and harmonica in this outfit.  We played for around a decade but the band finished when Stevie “Ray” Wade tragically died of cancer.  Stevie was the main singer in the band and Andy and John decided not to carry on after he had gone.  I have very fond memories of this band.  The track here is the original line–up with Stevie singing one of our most popular numbers, “Framed”. The Bullfrogs played at many gigs, raising money for my disabled daughter Evie, for which I am eternally grateful..
